Here’s an easy way to get rid of panda eyes at homek

Panda eyes often make us look older, tired and unfresh. If it’s happening to you, there are ways to get rid of panda eyes that you can try at home, from using compresses to using natural ingredients. Panda eyes mean the appearance of dark circles on the skin around the eyes. This condition is usually accompanied by swollen or stuffy eyes. Panda eyes are usually harmless and only temporary.

Panda eyes can happen to anyone, men and women. Makeup or concealer is often used to cover panda eyes, but not to eliminate this discomfort.

Causes of the appearance of panda eyes

Panda eyes are mostly caused by fatigue or lack of sleep. Aside from these two conditions, panda eyes can also be caused by:

  • dehydration
  • Cigarettes and excessive alcohol consumption
  • genetic factor
  • staring at the phone too long
  • allergies

In addition, panda eyes can also be caused by the aging process. As we age, the body’s skin becomes thinner and adipose tissue and collagen decrease. This emphasizes the blood vessels under the eyes, making the skin appear darker.

Different ways to get rid of panda eyes

There are several ways to get rid of panda eyes that you can easily do at home, among other things

1. Use a cold compress

Panda eyes develop because the blood vessels under the skin around the eyes dilate. To get rid of panda eyes, you can apply cold compresses under the eyes to shrink the dilated blood vessels.

You can simply wrap an ice cube in a clean cloth or soak the cloth in cold water and then place it on the dark skin around your eyes for 15-20 minutes.

2. Meet the body’s fluid needs

One of the causes for panda eyes to appear is a lack of body fluids or dehydration. Therefore, you must drink at least 8 glasses of water daily to meet your body’s hydration needs. A lack of body fluids can make you feel lethargic and make panda eyes more visible.

3. Use natural ingredients

To reduce the dark color of panda eyes, you can apply natural ingredients like almond oil or aloe vera gel.

According to research, these ingredients contain antioxidants and anti-inflammatory agents that can reduce dark color and puffiness in the eyes. These natural ingredients can also moisturize the skin around the eyes, making the eyes look brighter.

4. Compress with a tea bag

Tea, whether black or green, contains caffeine and antioxidants that can improve circulation and brighten skin. To treat panda eyes, you can compress your eyes with moist tea chilled in the refrigerator for 15–20 minutes.

5. Elevate head position during sleep

This method can be used to get rid of panda eyes while reducing puffiness under the eyes due to fluid buildup. You can support your head while you sleep by stacking two or more pillows on top of each other.

6. Avoid consuming alcoholic beverages

Alcoholic beverages can cause mild dehydration, making panda eyes more visible. Also, drinking too much coffee will keep you up longer, making it even harder to lose panda eyes.

7. Use an eye cream

Some eye creams, such as those containing vitamin C, vitamin E, vitamin K, or tea leaf extract, are known to reduce wrinkles on the skin and hide panda eyes. However, the results are not immediately visible. You may need to use eye cream for a few weeks before the panda’s eyes stop looking blurry.

8. Adequate sleep time

Fatigue and lack of sleep are one of the most common causes of panda eyes. Therefore, to get rid of panda eyes, you need adequate sleep, which is about 7 to 9 hours every night. Avoid the habit of often sleeping or staying up too late.

In addition, it’s wise to limit the time you look at your device, use sunscreen of at least SPF 30 when going out, and quit smoking and excessive alcohol consumption to get rid of panda eyes.

While it’s not a serious condition, you still need to be cautious if your panda eyes don’t go away after a few days or weeks.
